South Australia

South Australia [1] is an Australian state with many contrasts. The southern portion of the state is pastoral, but as you drive north it becomes progressively drier and more barren until it becomes arid desert. Because of this, the majority of the population live to the south and east of Adelaide.

The Central Market near Victoria Square is a wonderful food resource, with a variety of produce from the gastronomic to the everyday, at competetive prices.There is also a range of economical cafes & restaurants nearby. The Market is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Friday ( till 2100)and Saturdays till about 1430 hrs.

Drink

"Coopers" Beer is an icon of South Australia. It is often described as the biggest small brewery in Australia.It is still family-owned. All Coopers products claim to be made by "natural" methods. There is a range of products from crisp lager styles to dark stout. At one time, Coopers claimed to be the largest by volume exporter of bottled beer to the United States! Coopers Home Brew kits have an international reputation & are exported to many countries.
