The Coaster commuter train (1-800-262-7837) runs between North County and downtown San Diego, with stations in Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, and San Diego. The fare is $3.75-$5.25, depending on the stations used, and there are multi-ride, transfer-from-transit, senior, disabled, and student discounts.
