The two major airlines, Lan Peru and Star Peru, operate daily flights from Lima to Chiclayo.

Chiclayo is on the Pan-American Highway with numerous connections south to Trujillo, Chimbote (for Caraz & Huaraz), Lima and north to Piura, Mancora, & Tumbes on the border with Ecuador. Also to Cajamarca , Chachapoyas, Tarapoto & Yurimaguas to the east.

  • Transportes Linea [1] is a good value bus company to most destinations in north Peru, their website showing destinations, seat availability, departure times, trip durations, arrival times, bus types & prices. There is a fairly universal ATM in their departure lounge.
  • Ormeño [2] has buses to Lima, Santiago de Chile & Buenos Aires in Argentina, & north to Mancora, Tumbes, & Guayaquil (Ecuador) daily & Cuenca & Quito (both Ecuador) weekly. Both companies have 3 or 4 quality classes.
  • Movil Tours [3] comes from Lima, leaves Trujillo at 3/4pm via Chiclayo (3 hours) for Tarapoto/Chachapoyas. They & Transportes Linea have good night buses to Huaraz, from Trujillo.

Lord of Sipan tomb - The discovery of the Lord of Sipan considered the "King Tutankamon of the Americas", is one of the most spectacular tombs discovered in the western hemisphere, located near the city of Chiclayo. Sipan's treasures show the Moche culture's ability with several metals: gold, silver and copper and precious stones in fine quality and a mastery in metallurgy unrivalled in the Americas, centuries before the Incas. The treasures of Sipan tombs are in the Royal Tombs of Sipan *Museum[4] in Lambayeque.

Tucume - The Valley of 26 pyramids bulit by the ancient peruvians.

Sican Museum[5] - that house interesting remains from the Sican culture. It is located 20 minutes from Chiclayo in Ferrenafe.
