Huvsgul

Huvsgul in Mongolia is freezing cold just about all the time, with very changeable weather. Also, reportedly, one of the most beautiful places in the world. It is inhabited by the reindeer people, who live in teepees, ride reindeer, and live from their reindeer herds.

Get in

there are several busses that are going from Mörön (aimak-center) to the lake (esp. Khatgal - a little city in the southern shore of the lake). It is also possible to rent a jeep with a driver that will bring you there... Otherwise you can fly with MIAT from Mörön and Ulan Bator to Khatgal in the summertime.


Get around

There is a trail going around the lake (the western shore is more beautiful). There is also the possibility to rent some horses or make a ttour to the reindeer people mentionend below.

Huvsgul is the biggest lake of Mongolia. There are many ships and many tourist camps

And in Huvsgul you can see the people who live in taiga. They live without electricity and live like ancient people.
